Our Story

Lisa & Kelly have been friends since the late nineties, fueled by a love of riding and horses. Lisa, a talented and successful trainer and competitor, and Kelly, an amateur rider and competitor. Both still ride and train under the watchful eye of Lisa’s mom, USDF Gold Medalist, Debbie Evans.A few years ago, Kelly started a small side business selling high end dressage tack and apparel on consignment. Lisa and Kelly were frustrated with the lack of stylish, functional riding clothes and gear designed specifically for the dressage rider. Lisa then partnered with Kelly, and they became dealers for Kingsley Riding, putting the "boot" in boutique! Soon after, they dissolved the consignment business, became retailers and brought in brands that weren’t readily available for purchase in the U.S. They have grown and learned a lot over the past few years and seek to partner with like-minded wholesalers and manufacturers to keep providing products they love.Both Lisa and Kelly work full-time jobs (not horse related!), have families and continue to ride and compete. The Cottage Equine is a passion project that they hope you will love as much as they do.
